What Should An Anti Age Cream Contain?

The use of age-defying skin care products continues to rise each year ; as we are living far longer than previous generations it is a smart idea to look after your physical appearance.  Skin is crucial so a great amount of effort goes into the preparation of beauty products particularly those that increase the production of collagen, which is the first protein in skin ; collagen makes up approximately 25 percent of the total protein in the skin.  Most anti aging products ( collagen included ) fall into a category of natural everyday products we all use ; called antioxidants, they help flush out poisons from the body and help reduce the symptoms of aging.

Though the benefits of vitamin C ( an anti-oxidant ) are well documented, it is still debated as to what our daily amount should be.  Skin care treatments that are based mostly on vitamin C, pose the problem of becoming oxidized themselves as they come into contact with air during their usage.

To find a way around this some skin care treatments are based mostly on derivatives of vitamin C, which are far more stable and less costly.  These new anti-oxidant products are not almost as good as vitamin C though other naturally occurring compounds, vitamin E and lipoic acid can achieve a similar effect.

Vitamin E has many functions including restraining the formation of cancer cells.  It is found in the blood it is an antioxidant that’s also used to extend the body’s defenses against other illnesses.  Lipoic acid is present in every single human cell ; it’s function is to provide energy and reverse much of the damage caused to the skin by aging.

Other compounds called phytochemicals have proved to be useful in the formulation of anti aging skin creams ; they are removed from various plants.  Phytochemicals forestall occurrence of certain types of cancer ; these include prostate problems, breast cancer and colon cancer.

It has also been discovered that there are anti-ageing benefits to vitamins B5, B6 and B12.  This just goes to focus on just how complex and far reaching the entire field of age-defying skin creams is and why so much more research is required.

A great deal about the process of aging has already been learned and the products around today are much more complicated than ten years back but there is still a great distance to go.  Hopefully, these challenges will get resolved in due course and better and cheaper anti-aging skin care products is going to be produced.

However man-made skin care regimes should be used only as a supplement ; they can’t replace natural skin care remedies.  Drinking plenty of water, getting a good night’s sleep, exercising regularly, maintaining eating wisely habits and keeping stress in check are an essential means of delaying growing older.
